On August 25, Lin Jinzan, chairman of the Board of Directors of Meizhou Mazu Temple, led a delegation to visit the Thai Teochew Association and held a work progress meeting with the preparatory committee for the Meizhou Mazu patrol and blessing tour in Thailand. Lin Chuqin, chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and general chairman of the preparatory committee for the Meizhou Mazu patrol and blessing tour in Thailand, led representatives from the Thai Teochew Association, the Thai-Chinese Import and Export Association, the Thai Lin Clan Association, the Thai Fujian Association, and other participating organizations in in-depth discussions on preparations for the patrol and blessing tour, renewing cultural ties and hometown bonds.

The preparatory committee meeting was chaired by general chairman Lin Chuqin. Chen Xiyuan, Liu Bingqing, Lin Wei, Huang Yuzhi, Lin Qirui, Lin Junran, Liu Hanming, Su Chengzhi, Jiang Yingchu, Xu Zili, Lin Xincai, Lin Zhaoxiang, Wen Guohua, Lin Sheng, Chen Yulong, ภัทรภร, Zhong Muqiang, and other vice chairpersons of the preparatory committee attended the meeting. At the meeting, all parties discussed key matters one by one, including the activity process, airport reception, entry and customs clearance, Mazu sacrificial rites, the patrol and blessing route, cultural performances, charity and public welfare, the overseas promotion of cultural and creative products, coordination among overseas Chinese organizations, venue construction, safety safeguards, and logistics coordination. The meeting further clarified responsibilities and connected the details for implementation.
Lin Chuqin delivers remarks
Chairman Lin Chuqin said that Meizhou Mazu's return to Thailand for a patrol and blessing tour after seven years is deeply meaningful. This event is jointly organized by the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Thai Teochew Association, and the Board of Directors of Meizhou Mazu Temple, with major Thai-Chinese overseas Chinese organizations serving as co-organizers. It has attracted wide attention across Thai-Chinese society. The meeting systematically reviewed each work stage, further streamlined the coordination mechanism among all parties, and promoted efficient and orderly preparation to ensure the successful implementation of the patrol and blessing tour, bringing new vitality to the overseas dissemination of Mazu culture.
Lin Jinzan delivers remarks
Chairman Lin Jinzan said that in addition to attending the inauguration ceremony of the Thai Puxian Association, the delegation's core task during this visit to Thailand was to refine and coordinate the procedures for the Meizhou Mazu patrol and blessing tour in Thailand this December, finalize and implement all preparations, and make every effort to ensure the successful holding of the grand patrol and blessing event. He said the event would open a new chapter for the China-Thailand family bond and the new golden 50 years, continue a new story of people-to-people exchange between China and Thailand, promote the overseas development of Mazu culture, and fulfill the commitment made to UNESCO to protect and inherit the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, Mazu belief and customs.
In particular, this July, President Xi Jinping announced at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference that over the next five years, the meteorological intelligent early-warning solution "Mazu" would be implemented in 30 countries, watching over countless homes and safeguarding peace across the seas. The China Meteorological Administration has established the "Mazu" scholarship to cultivate meteorological disaster prevention and reduction professionals around the world. This allows Mazu's spirit of great love in "protecting all beings" to reach the world in a new form, enables Mazu culture to advance with the times through integrity and innovation, encourages overseas Chinese and admirers of Mazu at home and abroad to carry the cause forward, lets Mazu's great love cross mountains and seas, jointly inherits and promotes outstanding traditional Chinese culture, keeps the China-Thailand family bond lasting and renewed, and contributes people-to-people strength to the joint building of the Belt and Road.
At the meeting, vice chairpersons of the preparatory committee offered suggestions based on the resources of their respective overseas Chinese organizations, including personnel organization and activity coordination, and the parties reached multiple consensuses.
